In order to work in our school, it is important that applicants have the right to work in Spain. Most commonly applicants are already resident in Spain or have an EU passport, including
Ireland. Applicants with a British passport are not automatically eligible to work in Spain.
Teachers will be asked to have:
• Enthusiasm and high expectations for all pupils;
• An excellent knowledge of the British Curriculum and an ability to focus children ontheir learning by delivering engaging lessons;
• A B.Ed., P.G.C.E or equivalent;
• Native-like Level of English regardless of the nationality. (There is no requirement for our teachers to speak Spanish.)
● Planning and delivering lessons that follow the National Curriculum framework and respond to the needs of each individual student both in terms of ability and any
specific additional needs;
● Ensuring all lessons are adapted for students with English as an Additional Language;
● Maintaining an up to date and comprehensive knowledge of the iGCSE and A Level specifications for their subject areas;
● Taking responsibility for the progress of all students in their teaching groups and ensuring each student realises their full potential, including in external examinations;
● Taking responsibility for the progress of a class of primary age pupils and ensuring that all children are able to reach their maximum potential;
● Organising the classroom, corridors and learning resources to create a positive and engaging learning environment;
● Maintaining discipline across the whole school;
● Marking work in a detailed and timely manner according to the school marking policy;
● Assessing pupils progress accurately and honestly to provide a clear indication of
pupil attainment;
● Providing feedback to parents on pupil progress and behaviour both in formal termly meetings and informally through tutorias as required;
● Discussing the aims of the year with parents in an introductory meeting;
● Being prepared to develop and adapt schemes of work within their given curriculum area;
● Working effectively with colleagues for the benefit of all pupils;
● Staying up to date with changes and developments in British education, including any developments within the statutory curriculum requirements;
● Taking part in school events and activities that may include occasional evenings and weekends;
● Ability to relate to students and their families;
● A keen desire to help all students fulfill their potential;
● Willing to act as a learner as well as a teacher;
● Problem-solving skills;
● Excellent personal levels of literacy and numeracy;
● High level of planning and organisational skills;
● Prepared to give up time outside of the school day when necessary for the students in their charge.
